It’s my first weekend in Milwaukee this month and there is a lot happening around the city. Here are a few of the highlights I thought you would enjoy with your kiddos.
Saturday, April 21: HAPPY EARTH DAY
6:00 AM – 2:00 PM Grand Opening of Rocket Baby Bakery in East Tosa. Come enjoy a wide variety of European-inspired scones, muffins, croissants, cookies, and fresh baked breads. There will be food samplings, fun raffle prizes and a free macaroon with every purchase. The bakery’s regular hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Rocket Baby Bakery is located at 6822 W. North Avenue, Wauwatosa, WI.
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Just Between Friends Sale Milwaukee. If you are in need of anything for your kids, and don’t mind gently used items, this consignment sale is for you. In its last day, buyers will find some items marked at 50% off. This event is held at the Wisconsin Expo Center and admission is free.
10:00 AM – 3:00 PM South Milwaukee’s Indoor Spring Market. This indoor event is held at the Caterpillar Heritage Building and Bucyrus History Museum. The market will host over 45 local vendors from around the state. Enjoy live music, shopping and more. This event is free and great for families.
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Gallery Day. Enjoy a day of gallery-hopping and art-viewing in 62 venues throughout downtown Milwaukee and the Historic Third Ward. Admission is free to all venues during event hours, and brochures of participating venues are available at each gallery.
12:00 PM – 4:00 PM Earth Day Festival at Riverside Park. Celebrate Earth Day at the Urban Ecology Center in Milwaukee. You and your family will learn about the BeePod, take a hike, try out the rock climbing wall, make crafts, and much more. This is a free event, however donations are appreciated.
6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Family Skate Night at St. Pius X Parish. Enjoy a night of family fun roller skating! Beginner skaters only at 6:00 PM, ALL Skate starts at 7:00PM. The Roller Skating Rink is located at 2506 N Wauwatosa Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53213. Admission is $3.00 and skate rental is $1.00. Home-made pizza dinner will be available from 6:00-8:00.

Sunday, April 22
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Hoa Aloha Autism Awareness Bowling Event. In it’s 4th year, this family friendly fundraiser is held at New Berlin Bowl in New Berlin. This event features prizes, a raffle for a pair of diamond drop earrings and a bake sale.
1:10 PM Milwaukee Brewers vs. Colorado Rockies. Take the kids to the stadium for a tailgate and baseball game!
5:00 PM Milwaukee Admirals vs Abbotsford Heat. Cheer on the Admirals in their second playoff game at the Bradley Center.
